The Next Gen GO Anywhere shows its status through the rhythm of one light after its button is pressed, and Geotab publishes the patterns but not the colors. This page animates each pattern and lists the specs and checks.
The Next Gen GO Anywhere, also listed by Geotab as GO Anywhere 2, reports on its own activation through flash rhythm alone. Geotab's documents describe four patterns: slow, fast, a single flash every 15 seconds and a double flash. They do not state a color for any of them, so our animation shows a neutral light, and you should judge by tempo. Geotab does not publish where the light sits on the case either, so its position in the drawing is illustrative. Tap any button below to see it and hear what it means.
🔇 The Next Gen GO Anywhere has no sound. Watch the light.
Easy way to remember it: Slow, hold still. Fast, all set. One blink, no cell. Two blinks, no sky.

Each button plays the pattern on the Next Gen GO Anywhere above, says out loud what it means, and tells you what to do.
| Light | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Slow flash | Activation or health check running | Keep hands off until it changes |
| Fast flash for 15 seconds | Healthy, configured and communicating | Nothing; mount it and move on |
| One flash every 15 seconds | Cell service weak or absent | Relocate to coverage, then press the button |
| Double flash for 15 seconds | No GPS fix | Find open sky, then press the button |
Those four rows are all Geotab publishes, with no colors attached. The tracker retries a failed activation by itself, and a button press can also start a manual health check whose results upload to MyGeotab.
There is nothing for a driver or yard hand to operate. Geotab built this model to be deployed once and left in place, with hourly location check-ins in its standard mode and a sealed lithium manganese dioxide pack rated for up to ten years. The office sees each asset in MyGeotab next to the trucks that move it.
When something goes missing, reporting can be switched to every 15 minutes for recovery. That faster rate draws more energy, so we suggest returning to hourly once the asset is found. A unit that seems quiet can be checked with a button press on site, and our technicians handle that during a service visit.
This tracker plugs into nothing: no harness, no power lead, no I/O. The parts are for holding it in place:
Assets with power that would benefit from engine hours or tag reading should get the wired GO Anywhere Plus. See the Next Gen GO Anywhere product page for fleet uses.

Watch for the fast 15-second flash on every unit, and do not count a slow flash as a pass. Make sure each serial landed on the right asset in MyGeotab, since a mix-up between two identical containers is hard to spot later. Mount with as little metal around the case as possible, get permission before drilling, and check that no nearby equipment is damaged by the screws. Finish by validating each unit in Geotab's installation tool before we drive off.
Geotab's quick start guide and support document describe the light only by its flash pattern and never name a color. Our animation uses a neutral light on purpose, so read the rhythm, not the color.
Slow, hold still. Fast, all set. One blink, no cell. Two blinks, no sky. A slow flash is activation running, a fast flash for 15 seconds is a healthy unit, a single flash every 15 seconds means weak cell service and a double flash means no GPS.
Geotab does not publish a duration for this model. We keep the tracker outdoors and untouched until the slow flash gives way to the fast healthy flash or to one of the two fault patterns.
If a batch of Next Gen GO Anywhere trackers will not get past the single or double flash, our technicians bring them to open ground, run the activation again and mount each one where it can see the sky. Call 803-513-1009 or request a visit through Get a Quote.
