Azuga 3-Wire Tracker, technical information

The light patterns and wire facts Azuga documents for the 3-wire hardwired tracker, with a voice that says what each light means.

This sheet gathers what Azuga documents for the 3-wire hardwired tracker: its lights, whether it makes a sound, how to prove it is reporting, and the wire and mounting facts you need at the vehicle.

Lights: tap a pattern and watch the tracker

Only three patterns are documented for this unit

Azuga's 3-wire guide describes the power-up blink, a solid green for success, and a blinking red for failure. The two cheat sheet patterns are shown separately because Azuga does not say they apply to hardwired units. Trust the portal over any one light.

Tap a light pattern to see it

Each button plays the pattern on the device above and says out loud what it means.

Sound

🔇 No Azuga page lists a speaker or beeps for the hardwired tracker.

That is silence in the documents. We treat the unit as silent and will update this page if Azuga says otherwise.

Prove it is reporting

  1. Turn the ignition on and wait a few minutes.
  2. Watch for the single blink of all the lights, then solid green for about five seconds.
  3. Park outside with a view of the sky if the light does not go green. GPS may not lock in a garage, but it will after a short drive in the open.
  4. Confirm the vehicle appears and updates in Azuga Fleet.
  5. Only after the check passes, tie-wrap and secure the cables.

If the light never goes green

Azuga does not publish a fault tree for the hardwired unit, so this is how we would work through what its guide does say:

  • Meter the red wire to ground. Azuga says it must be a 12 volt constant source.
  • Meter the black wire. It has to be a real ground at 0 volts.
  • Meter the white wire with the ignition off, then on. Azuga defines it as 0 volts off and 12 volts on.
  • Check the mounting spot. Is the unit six inches clear of metal, label side up?
  • Move the vehicle outdoors and drive a short way in the open before you call it a failure.
  • Wait the registration time and then look for the vehicle in Azuga Fleet.

Questions to put to Azuga

  • Does the 3-wire unit accept 24 volts on the red wire?
  • How many lights does it have and what are their colors?
  • Is the green five seconds solid or flashing?
  • Is there a published spec sheet for this unit?

Extension cable

Azuga's shop lists a 3 wire extension cable with a diode, 900 mm, part C602-0032, for constant, ignition and ground. The price listed on shop.azuga.com on 2026-10-21 was $9.99. See the extension cables page.

What a fleet can add through it

Azuga's 2020 blog says hardwired trackers use a three-wire connection and can support input monitoring and ELD use. With a harness, the same article says they can handle door unlock, remote engine control, starter disable, and PTO or beacon light monitoring. That is a general-category article, not a spec for this exact unit, so confirm any of those with Azuga before you promise them to a customer.
