Azuga 2-Wire Tracker, technical information

The three light patterns Azuga documents for the 2-wire tracker, with a voice that says what each one means.

The technical sheet for the 2-wire hardwired tracker. It holds the three light patterns Azuga documents, the sound answer, the wire facts, and a short proof-of-life routine.

Lights: tap a pattern and watch the tracker

Short list, on purpose

Azuga documents only three states for this unit. We do not add any from other devices. The only blink interval Azuga gives is the red one, every two seconds.

Each button plays the pattern on the device above and says out loud what it means.

Sound

🔇 No Azuga page lists a speaker or beeps for the 2-wire tracker.

The documents are silent on sound. We treat the unit as silent and will update this page if Azuga says otherwise.

Mounting reminders from the guide

Hide it away from moving parts, under the steering column or under the passenger side dash, with the label side up. Keep it six inches clear of metal because the antenna is inside the housing. Tie-wrap it. Azuga says the bolt slots are rarely needed. Leave the cables loose until the light check passes, then secure them.

Proof of life in four steps

  1. Connect red to a constant 12 or 24 volt source and black to ground. Confirm the constant with a meter first.
  2. Watch the single blink of the lights, then a solid green.
  3. If red blinks every two seconds, stop and repeat the install.
  4. Register the serial number and confirm the vehicle shows up in Azuga Fleet. Secure the cables only after that.

Registering it, app and web

Azuga's mobile app lists both hardwired trackers under one entry, Hardwired GPS Tracker. Scan or type the serial number and complete the vehicle details. On the web, go to Admin, then Vehicles, and find the vehicle that Azuga pre-created with the serial number as its name. Edit it, match the device, and use a unique vehicle name.

If the light never goes green

  • Meter the red wire. Azuga says it must be a constant source, 12 or 24 volts.
  • Check the black wire for a clean ground.
  • If the red light blinks every two seconds, treat it as a failed install and repeat the steps.
  • Take the vehicle outside and drive a few minutes. GPS may not lock in a garage.
  • Wait, then check Azuga Fleet before you rework the wiring.

Questions to put to Azuga

  • How does the 2-wire unit decide the vehicle is running?
  • Which reports change because there is no ignition wire?
  • Is there a published spec sheet with size, weight and sleep draw for this unit?
  • Does the SKU have a different code from the 3-wire unit's DCM970-21ZB1?
