The TTU-2830 is the weatherproof powered tracker in Zonar's lineup for heavy equipment, trailers and assets that are wired to a battery but may sit disconnected for long stretches. A large 5.2 Ah rechargeable battery keeps it reporting after the asset's power is gone, rated for about 500 message cycles on a full charge.
In Zonar's quote tool this is the Powered Asset Tracking option, offered as a heavy equipment version and a trailer-only version.
Construction equipment. Loaders, excavators and generators parked on job sites overnight are exactly the theft risk Zonar built it for.
Trailers. A trailer that is dropped at a customer site still reports from its own battery.
Rental equipment. Starter interrupt and location reporting help keep machines where the contract says they should be.

It is a three-wire install: red to a 12 or 24 V constant source between 7 and 32 V, black to chassis ground, white to a source that reads 0 V when the vehicle is off, all through a 3 A inline fuse, with unused wires insulated. Inputs trigger when the blue wire is grounded, so a door switch that closes to ground when the door shuts reads as input on. After power-up, look for solid orange for cellular and solid green for GPS; blinking means it is still searching, and a GPS lock can take up to five minutes. If nothing locks after a minute or two of waiting, move the unit and try again.
The TTU-2830 fits powered equipment and trailers that need a wired tracker with a big backup battery. Assets with no power at all, like dumpsters, light towers or unpowered trailers in the sun, are a better fit for the solar tracker or ZTrak. We can supply and install whichever one matches the asset.

Zonar rates the 5.2 Ah battery at about 500 message cycles on a full charge. How many days that covers depends on how often it is set to report.
It is rated IP66, which means dust tight and protected against strong water jets. It is meant to be mounted on the asset, not submerged.
Yes, through its starter interrupt harness, which blocks the next start. It does not stop a machine that is already running.
