The LMU-2630 is Zonar's hardwired GPS tracker for hidden installs, with inputs, outputs and an optional starter disable. Here is what it does and how it goes in.

The LMU-2630 is the hardwired GPS tracker in Zonar's small fleet lineup, built by CalAmp. It hides under the dash, wires to constant power, ignition and ground through a 20-pin harness, and is the unit Zonar's quote tool offers as the hardwire device.
Zonar describes most hardwired installs as a standard three-wire job no matter the device, and the LMU-2630 follows that pattern. What sets it apart from a plug-in tracker are the extras its harness supports: inputs, outputs, a starter disable relay, a driver ID reader, a driver buzzer, trailer temperature sensors and diagnostic adapters.
Fleets that have had trackers unplugged. A hidden hardwired unit is much harder for a driver to find and pull than a plug-in.
Buy-here-pay-here and rental fleets. Starter disable lets the vehicle be kept from starting until the issue is cleared.
Refrigerated trailers and trucks. Temperature sensors alert on high or low readings in up to three zones.
Vehicles with no diagnostic port. Older vehicles, equipment and trailers can still be tracked with three wires.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Power | 12 or 24 V systems, 7 to 32 V on the red constant wire |
| Fusing | 3 A inline fuse |
| Harness wires | Red power, black ground, white ignition, blue input 1, orange input 2, green starter disable, brown output 1, yellow output 2, green/black serial out, blue/black serial in, white/blue 1-Bit bus, pink ADC input |
| Accessory ports | AUX 1 and AUX 2 on the harness |
| Starter disable relay | Red key side, white starter side, orange relay switch |
| Heat limit | Keep the internal temperature below 140 °F |
| Lights | Green GPS LED and orange cellular LED |
| Sound | None on the unit; an optional driver buzzer can be added |
The white ignition wire must go to a true ignition source, not to the battery, or trip and idle data will be wrong. Zonar's guide says not to use quick taps or leave cut wires exposed, and every unused wire must be insulated. Mount the unit under the dash with no metal above it, away from heater vents and hot engine compartments, and secure it with screws, hook-and-loop or adhesive so it cannot move while driving. After power-up, expect a solid orange light for cellular and a solid green light for GPS, allowing up to five minutes for a GPS lock. For starter disable, cut the starter wire at the ignition switch and land the key side on the relay's red wire and the starter side on its white wire. Zonar's technical support verifies the install, and the vehicle should be outdoors and away from tall buildings for that check.
The LMU-2630 fits fleets that want a hidden install, inputs, starter disable or trailer temperature. Fleets that just want fast tracking on cars and pickups will be done sooner with the Geo 88 plug-in. We can supply and install either one.

No. Zonar states starter disable takes effect the next time someone tries to start the vehicle and never shuts off a running engine.
Yes, with the OBD-II or J-Bus diagnostic adapter cable plugged into the AUX 2 port on its harness.
The tracker cannot tell when the vehicle is running, so trips, idle time and ignition events will be wrong. It must go to a true ignition source.
