The HRN-XGS09K2 is Geotab's 9-pin Deutsch T-harness kit for connecting a GO10 or GO10 Plus to medium and heavy-duty trucks. Its four interchangeable mounting adapters let one kit fit the many ways truck makers bolt in that round port.

The HRN-XGS09K2 is a 9-pin Deutsch T-harness kit that hooks a GO10 or GO10 Plus into the round diagnostic port found on most medium and heavy-duty trucks. Inside the bag are the HRN-XDM09T2 harness and four numbered mounting adapters; number 1 arrives mounted on the male connector. Geotab lists it as the GO10 successor to the HRN-GS09K2 and HRN-GS09K2-A.
Truck builders do not agree on how that round port is held in the cab. Some screw a flange to a bracket, some thread the connector through a panel and run a nut down behind it. Rather than stock a different harness for each style, Geotab put the mounting variation into removable adapters, which is the whole idea behind this kit.
According to Geotab, the harness suits most medium and heavy trucks worldwide that use the round 9-pin Deutsch port. On the device side it is built only for the GO10 and GO10 Plus. Geotab gives an 8 V to 36 V power output and a 5 A rating, so both 12 V and 24 V trucks fall inside its range. The harness is listed at 60 cm (23.6 in), with a maximum assembled length of 685 mm.
The four adapters are engraved 1 through 4. Number 1 is a flange and screw mount, number 2 an extended flange and screw mount, number 3 a flange and thread mount, and number 4 a plain thread mount. Nuts 3N and 4N come with the kit for the two threaded styles.
Tractor cabs tend to put the 9-pin port low on the driver's side, right where boots and log books swing past. Hanging a tracking device there is asking for a broken connector. The T layout lets the round port go back into its original bracket while the GO10 rides on its own lead to a protected spot, and the truck's port still accepts a shop's diagnostic plug.
The bigger win is on mixed truck lots. A yard might run three or four brands of tractor and a couple of straight trucks. Because the adapter is chosen on the spot, our technicians can carry one part number for all of them and finish each cab in a single visit instead of returning with a different harness.
Every step happens with the truck parked, secured and not running. Geotab's order of work:
If the bracket needs a different adapter, disconnect the harness first. Back off the rear screw cap, ease the connector body and its adapter forward and clear of the terminal cartridge while keeping all nine pins undisturbed, remove the old adapter, fit the new one aligned with its notch so it seals with no gap, slide everything back over the cartridge using the two slots, and tighten the cap until nothing shows between cap and adapter.
Geotab's length ceiling is 2 m (6.5 ft) for everything in the chain, and a T-harness can never be connected to another T-harness. Tie the GO10 and its lead securely away from the pedals, then confirm the unit is online and reading engine data in MyGeotab or MyInstall.

The terminal cartridge is the fragile part. During an adapter change, a bent or pushed-back pin will cost engine data, so we slide the connector off slowly and look at all nine terminals before reassembly. Keep track of the nuts, because a 3N will not do the job of a 4N. After the truck's plug goes on, twist the locking ring fully home; a half-seated ring can work loose over rough roads and drop the connection.
Not usually. Adapter 1 comes fitted, and the other three adapters ride in the kit, so the technician picks the one that matches the bracket once the dash is open.
No. Geotab states the nuts are not interchangeable, so the 3N nut belongs with adapter 3 and the 4N nut belongs with adapter 4.
No. The GS09K2-A was built for GO devices before the GO10, which uses a different connector. The HRN-XGS09K2 is listed as its GO10 replacement.
