Geotab GO Focus Pro Technical Information

The GO Focus Pro shows its status through one light: cyan while it starts, green when it works, red for weak signal and a slow blue blink when parked. This page plays each pattern and collects the wiring, setup and spec details.

How Do You Read the GO Focus Pro Dash Camera Status Light?

The GO Focus Pro reports on itself through a single status light with four published patterns. Two steady colors tell you whether it is starting or working, a flashing red warns of weak coverage, and a slow blue flash means it is asleep. Tap any button below to see it and hear what it means.

🔇 The GO Focus Pro has no status sound. Watch the light.

Easy way to remember it: Cyan, coming up. Green, working. Red, no signal. Slow blue, asleep.

Each button plays the pattern on the GO Focus Pro above, says out loud what it means, and tells you what to do.

What Does Each GO Focus Pro Light Mean?

LightMeaningWhat to do
Cyan, solidInitializing or waking upLeave it powered until it finishes
Red, flashingWeak or no cellular signalMove the vehicle somewhere with better coverage
Green, solidOn and workingNothing; this is normal
Blue, slow flashParking mode or sleepNothing; drive the vehicle to bring it online

Those four rows are Geotab's full published list. The Pro has a loudspeaker for collision and driver alerts, but Geotab documents no start-up or status sound, so the light is the only status signal.

What Does a Normal Install Look Like, Minute by Minute?

  • App and power. The Geotab Video app goes on the phone, and a multimeter finds the constant and ACC fuse slots for temporary fuse-tap power through the 3-wire harness.
  • First power. The vehicle goes on and the light shows cyan. Geotab says to allow 4 to 5 minutes for solid green on a first power-up; the animation shortens it.
  • Activation. The serial is scanned in the app, and live view helps pick the spot before any adhesive is exposed.
  • Mounting. Glass between 70 °F and 100 °F is cleaned with alcohol, left 60 seconds to dry, and the bracket is pressed for 30 seconds.
  • Aiming. The road lens is set to the horizon box and the cabin lens to the seated driver, then the bracket gets another 30-second press.
  • Finish. The harness is routed and tied, the fuse taps are made permanent, and the app's History tab shows the installation report.

How Do You Use the GO Focus Pro Day to Day?

In service, the GO Focus Pro wakes with the vehicle, passes through cyan and holds green while it records the road and cabin. It warns the driver of collision risk ahead, recognizes traffic lights and plates, and with side units added watches blind spots. Managers review events and live video in MyGeotab. Once parked, it drops to a slow blue flash.

The habits that keep it healthy are simple. Use only Geotab's SD cards, since the Pro supports no others. Keep the sun visor and mirror clear of the cabin lens. Flashing red that lasts beyond a poor-coverage area is worth reporting.

Which Harness and Connection Parts Go With the GO Focus Pro?

Unlike the smaller Focus models, the Pro takes power straight from the vehicle through the HRN-IOXGFPRO-3W 3-wire harness, which is sold separately:

  • Yellow to constant battery power (B+).
  • Black to ground.
  • Red to ACC, which is live when the engine runs; on the rare vehicle with no ACC, red goes to ground.

A separate IOX harness links the dash cam to a GO9 or newer GO device so the two pair automatically. Geotab warns against routing the cable under the headliner where roof airbags are fitted; the run then follows the A-pillar trim and door weatherstrip instead.

fuse panel B+ slot ACC slot ground yellow: constant B+ red: ACC (ground if no ACC) black: ground GO Focus Pro dash cam IOX harness GO device Find both fuse slots with a multimeter before tapping.
The Pro's power comes from the fuse panel on three wires; the IOX harness only handles pairing and data with the GO device.

What Should Installers Check Before Leaving a GO Focus Pro?

Prove the yellow wire sits on a slot that stays live with the key off and the red wire on one that drops with it. The light should go from cyan to solid green within the published 4 to 5 minutes. Lower the sun visor fully and confirm it clears the cabin lens. Keep the cable clear of roof airbags, tie everything behind the fuse panel, and confirm the report saved in the History tab.

What Are Common Questions About the GO Focus Pro's Lights and Setup?

What is the easiest way to remember the GO Focus Pro light?

Cyan, coming up. Green, working. Red, no signal. Slow blue, asleep. Cyan means it is starting or waking, green means all is well, flashing red means weak cellular coverage and a slow blue flash means parking mode.

Why does the GO Focus Pro blink blue when the truck is parked?

A slow blue flash is parking mode, the dash cam's sleep state, and Geotab lists no action for it. Driving the vehicle brings it back online, and the light passes through cyan to green.

What happens to the red wire if the vehicle has no ACC circuit?

Geotab's guide says that on the rare vehicle without an ACC interface, the red wire goes to ground instead. Our technicians confirm that with a multimeter before making the connection.

If a GO Focus Pro won't leave cyan, keeps flashing red in good coverage or never sleeps, our technicians trace the fuse taps, ground and IOX link on site. Ring 803-513-1009 or open Get a Quote.
