The wireless driver ID keyfob tells the tracker who is driving without a card reader or a button press. Here is how it works and what it pairs with.
Drawing for reference, not a product photo.
The wireless driver ID is a small keyfob the driver carries. When the driver gets in, a compatible Geometris tracker such as the Geo 88 detects the fob and assigns that driver to the vehicle automatically, so every event on that shift is tied to the right person.
It replaces the older approach of tapping a key on an iButton reader, which needs a reader wired into the dash and a driver who remembers to tap in every time. In Zonar's quote tool, the wireless driver ID carries no monthly charge.
Zonar lists all wireless-enabled Geometris devices in the 87, 88, 96 and 79 series. In Zonar's small fleet lineup that means the Geo 88 plug-and-play tracker. The hardwired LMU-2630 and the TTU-2830 use a different, wired key fob reader on their 1-Bit bus instead.
Shared vehicles. When several drivers rotate through the same pickups, the fob settles who had which truck.
Driver scorecards. Speeding and harsh braking only change behavior when they land on the right person's record.
Incident follow-up. When a ticket or a damage claim arrives weeks later, the trip shows who was driving.

There is nothing to wire. If the fob has a small clear plastic tab, pull it before handing it to the driver, because that tab keeps the battery disconnected. Zonar links each tag to the account ahead of time, but someone still has to assign it to a specific driver in the platform by entering the tag number. Because the range is long, keep spare fobs out of parked vehicles, or a fob left in the cupholder can assign the wrong person.
It fits fleets running the Geo 88 that want to know who is driving without adding a reader to the dash. Fleets on the hardwired LMU-2630 or TTU-2830 should use the wired key fob reader kit instead. We can set up either one.

No. The driver carries it and a compatible tracker detects it. Remove the battery tab if there is one, then assign the tag to the driver in the platform.
Zonar lists it for wireless-enabled Geometris devices such as the Geo 88. The LMU-2630 uses a wired key fob reader on its harness.
Zonar rates it at 5 years, and the battery level can be checked remotely.
