The IOX-ANALOG, currently in beta, reads varying voltage signals from a vehicle and its accessories. Senders for fuel, pressure, temperature or a second battery become readings in MyGeotab with out-of-range alerts.

Most auxiliary inputs on a telematics device are on or off: the PTO is engaged or it is not, the door is open or shut. Plenty of useful equipment does not work that way. A fuel tank sender, a pressure transducer or a second battery gives a voltage that rises and falls across a range, and an on/off input cannot read it. The IOX-ANALOG is the Geotab module for those signals.
Each unit reads four analog inputs between 0 and 30 volts and passes the values to MyGeotab, which shows near real-time status for each source and can notify staff when a reading leaves the limits the fleet sets. Geotab currently labels it beta.
Geotab names three application areas: secondary battery voltage, liquid flow meters, and temperature and pressure readings. It also describes using the module with a fuel level sender. Here is how that plays out on real vehicles.
Upfitted service and utility trucks often carry a second battery for an inverter, lift gate or light bar. Watching that battery's voltage lets the shop catch a failing battery or isolator before a crew is stuck with dead equipment on site.
Older or heavy equipment without fuel data on the diagnostic port can get a fuel level reading from the tank sender. Geotab notes a custom add-in or report can convert the voltage to a percentage, so the fleet sees fuel level where the engine port reports nothing.
Water, septic and liquid haulers can bring a flow meter's analog output into MyGeotab alongside GPS and trip data.
Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as cranes, compressors or vacuum trucks can report system pressure or temperature from a sender, with an alert when it moves out of its normal band.

The work on this module is mostly at the far end of the wires. Each signal has to be found and tested with a meter before anything is connected, and Geotab asks for an approved connection method such as T-tap wiring. The sender being read should be a low-impedance source, under 100 ohms driving resistance, or the reading will be off. Wire reach is the next thing to plan: the leads run about 3.5 feet from where the GO is mounted, so a tank sender or a battery box at the back of the truck will need extensions. Color coding is blue, orange, green and white for Aux 1 to 4. The GO is unplugged first, the 90 degree USB connector goes in and is tied without crushing it, and communication is confirmed through MyInstall after the vehicle is started. Because Geotab's document stops at the raw voltage, converting readings into gallons, PSI or degrees needs a custom report or add-in, which should be agreed before the install.
It fits fleets with a specific analog signal they want to watch and the willingness to work with a beta product. Signals that are simply on or off, such as a PTO or door switch, belong on an IOX-AUXM. Vehicles that already report fuel level through the engine port do not need it for fuel. Refrigerated loads are better handled by the IOX-COLD, which reads the reefer controller directly.
Geotab labels the module beta but does not spell out the terms in its install document, so we confirm current availability and support status at the time of ordering.
The module reports voltage. Turning that into a percentage or engineering unit takes a custom add-in or report.
Yes. Two IOX-ANALOG units daisy chained give eight inputs, within the GO's total current limit for the chain.
Tell us which senders you want to watch and API Signal will supply the IOX-ANALOG, meter each signal, run any extensions and finish the wiring right in your yard. Our number is 803-513-1009, and Get a Quote works just as well for sending the details.
