Roll-off, hooklift and live floor

Roll-Off Truck & Hooklift Tracking: Every Container Dropped, Picked Up or Unloaded

Roll-off and container companies lose money when nobody knows which can is at which address. We wire the hoist, hook and floor into the tracker on roll-off, hooklift and live floor trucks, so each drop, pickup and unload is recorded with the address.

Fleet installs from $65 per vehicle. Testing a few vehicles first? We do pilot installs too.

What do we monitor on roll-off, hooklift and live floor?

Each picture shows the part that gets wired into the tracker, circled in red. These are illustrations, not photos of customer trucks. The sections below explain how each one is monitored.

How does roll-off tracking record a dumpster drop?

The roll-off hoist runs on hydraulics from the PTO. When the PTO engages at an address, the platform records it, so each drop and pickup shows on the map. Dispatch can match containers to addresses and see how long each can has been on site, which is how rental days get billed.

What is monitored on a hooklift?

A hooklift loads and unloads bodies with a hook arm, again from the PTO. Each hook cycle is logged with location. Municipal and construction fleets that swap bodies between dumps, flatbeds and containers use it to see what was moved and where.

How is a live floor trailer tracked?

A live floor trailer unloads with a moving floor driven by the tractor's wet kit. The wet kit's PTO signal records each unload. Mulch, wood chip and recycling haulers use it to confirm where loads were delivered.

Is a walking floor the same?

Walking floor is the same idea under another name. See our walking floor trailer monitoring page for that install.

What does the office see once it is wired in?

How do we wire and test it?

We meter every signal before we use it, so the tracker records the equipment actually working, not a switch that was only requested. Power connections are fused, wiring is secured away from heat and moving parts, and each input is tested with the equipment running before the truck goes back out. Wire colors for the truck side are in our Vehicle Wiring Database. See all the equipment we monitor for the other trucks and equipment we wire in.

Which GPS tracking brands do we install?

Every major tracking platform can record hoist and floor signals, and we wire them into all of them. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
